ABOUT
More than a decade ago, I had my first solo exhibition, in a small paid-for-in-advance gallery in Stockholm. Self-taught, naive and just simply ignorant of the larger picture in the art world, I guess I did surprisingly well after all, and I could have perhaps just continued to make my large oil paintings of flower close-ups.
Instead I started to take classes in Art History, and what I found was that the interpretation of art history should not be taken for granted, just because it is presented in our mainstream media as fact, to be followed by most art curators and critics. Actually, it is alive and dynamic, and will change appearance, depending on who is connecting the dots.
I have a blog, or rather a series of articles on the spiritual in art, dealing with Modernism and Georgia O’Keeffe’s interesting connection to Kandinsky. There I’d like to share not only my art, but also my own personal view on the rightful place of art in our society and connect some of the dots I have collected along my path, so far.
